Markets for non-traders

Can I participate in financial markets without becoming a trader?

Yes. You can delegate some or most of the market work. The important question is what kind of delegation you want — and what you still want to control.

A lot of financial-market software assumes you already want to be a trader.

It gives you charts, indicators, scanners, signals, order tickets and settings. Those can be useful tools. They still leave you with the job of watching the market, deciding what matters and keeping the process running.

If that is not the job you want, there are other ways to approach it.

You first need to decide what you want to delegate

“I do not want to trade manually” can mean several different things.

  • You do not want to watch charts all day.
  • You do not want to make every individual market decision yourself.
  • You do not want to build or maintain a trading system.
  • You want your money to remain in an account you control.
  • You still want to understand what the software is doing.

Those preferences lead to different products.

Signals reduce research, not the job

A signal service tells you what someone or something thinks you should consider doing. You usually still have to decide whether to follow it, enter the action yourself, manage it and keep checking what happens next.

Signals can fit people who want help finding opportunities while keeping each decision manual.

Copy trading delegates decisions to another trader

Copy trading can reduce manual work further. Your account follows another trader or portfolio according to the provider's rules.

That can fit someone who explicitly wants to mirror another person's activity. The central question becomes who you are copying and how that relationship behaves when conditions change.

What is the difference between copy trading and Chilla?

The source of the work is different.

Copy trading starts with a lead trader: their decisions are mirrored into your account. Chilla does not need a lead trader for you to follow. You start with what you are working towards, stay in control of the material choices that matter, and Chilla carries the supported work within those boundaries.

Both approaches can reduce manual clicking. They are different forms of delegation.

For a direct side-by-side comparison, see AI trading vs copy trading.

A fixed bot delegates a set of rules

A traditional bot can be a good fit when you already know exactly what rules you want automated.

The tradeoff is that somebody still has to choose, configure or maintain those rules. For experienced traders, that may be exactly what they want. For someone trying to leave trading complexity behind, it can feel like becoming the operator of another trading system.

Do I need to bring my own trading strategy?

Not with Chilla. You can start from what you are working towards instead of arriving with indicator rules, entry logic, trading code or a strategy specification.

That does not mean Chilla invents a hidden strategy for you. Chilla has supported styles: defined ways the product can work. It can explain straightforward options and remove choices that are objectively unavailable for the account or market, while the material style, trading-account and market choices that remain are still yours.

Many “no-code” trading tools remove programming while still asking you to design the strategy. Chilla is aimed at a different job: absorb more of the product complexity while keeping the material choices that affect your work under your control.

So if your question is “Can I use AI trading without having my own strategy?”, the Chilla answer is yes: you do not have to design the trading logic yourself. You still choose the supported style and material work you authorize.

If you are already a trader and know what kind of work you want, that knowledge can still help. It simply is not the price of admission. For the related product distinction, see AI trading agent vs trading bot.

Goal-led automation starts somewhere else

Another approach is to start with what you are trying to achieve rather than with the mechanics of a trading setup.

That is the experience Chilla is built around.

You tell Chilla what you are working towards. Chilla handles the product complexity and brings what still needs you into the conversation. You stay in control of what goes live.

Then Chilla can carry the ongoing work within those boundaries and report back.

Do I still need to understand anything?

Yes — but you should not need a trading education just to operate the product.

You should understand the choices that materially affect the work you allow. You should know where your money stays. You should know what the software can do without asking again. And you should know how to pause, stop or change the work.

The product should carry the rest of the machinery.

Can I keep my own trading account?

With non-custodial automation, yes, when your trading account is supported.

Chilla works through supported external trading accounts. Beaverly does not hold the funds in them; the provider hosting the account does. Connecting a trading account also does not automatically start live Chilla work.

Does automation mean constant activity?

No.

Software that is supposed to do the work should also be able to stay out when there is nothing appropriate to do within the active task. More activity is not automatically better work.

Chilla can report back when it acted and when it stayed out. Flow remains available when you want to inspect the activity trail.

Who is this kind of product for?

Goal-led automation can make sense if you are more interested in the outcome and boundaries than in operating a trading workflow yourself.

Manual trading may still fit you better if you enjoy making each decision. A fixed bot may fit better if you want to design the rules. Copy trading may fit better if you specifically want to follow another trader.

Chilla is for a different job: carry the market work while you keep control of the important boundaries.

The short answer

You can participate in financial markets without making manual trading your second job or arriving with a strategy you already designed.

Chilla works towards your goals in the financial markets and reports back, within the boundaries you approve.
